Santa Barbara Project:
This is a recent remodel in Santa Barbara with multiple finishes and techniques. The installation included the grand entry/hall/stairwell, multiple fireplaces, a powder room, kitchen stove hood, and dining room. For the grand entry/hall/stairwell a two pass, two color oil based glaze was applied over off white walls, first color was peachy beige followed by a sheer neutral grey. The finished effect enhanced the existing white trim and casework, and created a warmer palate for the clients’ extensive art collection.
The entry ceiling architecture was a four sided raised cove, which received a 4 pass distressed Marmorino treatment of dark greys and sienna rusts, compositionally consistent with the same treatment in the adjacent powder room.
The fireplaces were given a rustic Tuscany cementatious plaster treatment, pitted and distressed from mantle to ceiling, giving the space a 3 dimensional textured stone look, far more visually effective than the previous one color paint scheme.
The dining room was kept lighter, with a pale green grey antico plaster treatment, the final effect featured subtle grain aggregate and soft undulating textural movement.
